New Delhi: Akhilesh Kumar is set to be next Director (Finance) of BEML Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Defence. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Friday. Currently, he is serving as serving as Additional General Manager (Corporate Finance) at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

Kumar has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of BEML Limited from a list of 10 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its meeting no. 62/2026 held on July 14. The other candidates, who were on the list, were from BEML, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, NTPC Limited, NLC India Limited, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), among others.

Upon appointment as Director (Finance) of BEML, Kumar will replace Anil Jerath, who set to superannuate on September 1.
As Director (Finance) of BEML, Kumar will be a member of Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be overall in charge of finance and accounts functions of the organisation and will be responsible for evolving and formulating finance policies.
