Sanjay Kumar Jha assumes charge as CMD of MIDHANI

Sanjay Kumar Jha, who was serving as Director (Production & Marketing) of MIDHANI, has assumed charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of the company

New Delhi: Sanjay Kumar Jha has assumed charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI), a Hyderabad-based Miniratna Defence PSU under the Ministry of Defence. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as Director (Production & Marketing) in the same organisation. He has been appointed on this post for a period with effect from today, i.e. May 1, till the date of his superannuation i.e. February 2, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported that Jha was recommended for the post of MIDHANI's CMD by a PESB panel on October 22, 2019. He was selected for the post from the list of six candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel.

Educational background

Dr Jha is a metallurgical engineering graduate from NIT Jamshedpur of 1988 batch. After completing his engineering he had joined 32nd batch of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) training school. Later, due to his interest in the production area, he joined Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), Hyderabad and was posted in extrusion and piercing plant (EPP).

Achievements

At NFC, under his leadership, for the first time simulation and modelling of "difficult to hot work" Inconel 718, Titanium full alloy, PT-7M, PT-3B Inconel 690, Incoloy 800 were carried out successfully. He had also played important role in producing Titanium half alloy and full alloy tube in different sizes for Light Combat Aircraft and PSLV application, Simulation and modelling of two dissimilar metals for superconductor applications which is being used for the development of fusion technology.
