26th Energy Technology Meet: MRPL bags the "Best Innovation in the Refinery" award

MRPL has achieved the remarkable feat of winning the "Best Innovation in the Refinery" award for the second consecutive year

New Delhi: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) received the "Best Innovation in the Refinery" award at the 26th Energy Technology Meet 2023. The 2023 edition of the event is being held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi between October 09 to October 11. MRPL has achieved the remarkable feat of winning this award for the second consecutive year, the company said in a statement on social media.

The award was presented by Union minister of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri. Minister of State for MoPNG Rameswar Teli, Pankaj Jain (IAS) Secretary, MoPNG were also present at the stage. Managing Director of MRPL Sanjay Varma alongwith BHV Prasad ED Projects MRPL, Shyam Prasad Kamath ED Refinery MRPL, V Nanda Kumar GGM Corporate Strategy MRPL, Karthick R Senior Manager received the award.

Addressing the 26th Energy Technology Meet, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said, "Our net zero target by 2070 is a little too long-term." He was of the view that India is moving fast towards energy transition and said that for GAIL, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and others, the energy transition target is 2035 to 2040.
