Coal India bags ‘Public Sector of India Award’

Coal India Limited has bagged the 'Public Sector of India' award at the Energy Meet 2019 & Excellence Awards organised by ASSOCHAM

Kolkata: State-run Maharatna Coal PSU, Coal India Limited (CIL), under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal, has bagged the 'Public Sector of India' award at the Energy Meet 2019 & Excellence Awards of ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry).

The award was received by Coal India's Chairman Anil Kumar Jha for Coal India's contribution and commitment to providing energy security to India and towards the environment on December 20 in a ceremony held in Kolkata.

Coal India Limited (CIL) is a Maharatana PSU under the Ministry of Coal and has its headquarters in Kolkata, West Bengal. It is the largest coal-producing company in the world. The company contributes to around 82 percent of the coal production in India. It has seven subsidiary companies.
