New Delhi: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) on Wednesday conducted an Awareness Session and Ni-Kshay Shivir (Screening Camp) at its Corporate Office in New Delhi, as part of the 100-Day Intensified Campaign on TB Elimination launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The session aimed at educating IREDA employees, including contractual staff, about TB prevention, early diagnosis, and the benefits of treatment for silent TB infection. The Ni-Kshay Shivir provided on-site screening and consultations to encourage timely medical intervention.
A team from the Centre TB Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, conducted the screenings and awareness sessions. On this occasion, IREDA's Director (Finance) Dr Bijay Kumar Mohanty administered the “Ni-Kshay Shapath” (pledge for a TB-free India) to all employees via a virtual platform. The two-day Shivir will continue tomorrow. Director (Finance) also inaugurated a fitness centre at the company's corporate office, providing IREDA employees with an opportunity to enhance their well-being.
IREDA's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Pradip Kumar Das emphasized the company’s commitment to public health and social responsibility, stating, "Health and well-being are crucial for a productive workforce and a sustainable future. IREDA is happy to contribute to the national mission of a TB-free India through awareness and proactive screening efforts, in alignment with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare."
