MIDHANI launches e-platform, promotes participative vigilance during VAW 2025

Throughout the week, several events aligned with this year’s theme were organised to promote vigilance and integrity among employees and stakeholders

Hyderabad: Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 from October 27 to November 2, 2025, with the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility; सतर्कता: हमारी साझा जिम्मेदारी,” as per the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

The observance began with the administration of the Integrity Pledge by Dr. S.V.S. Narayana Murty, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) MIDHANI, at the company’s Hyderabad premises. The inaugural event has attended by MIDHANI's Director (Finance) K Madhubala, Director (Production & Marketing) Padavittan Babu, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Spurthi Reddy (IRS) and other senior officials and employees. During the inaugural session, Dr Murty launched an “e-Platform for Conducting Disciplinary Proceedings,” reinforcing MIDHANI’s commitment to transparency and efficiency.

Throughout the week, several events aligned with this year’s theme were organised to promote vigilance and integrity among employees and stakeholders. Activities included online quiz competitions, vendor meets, customer grievance redressal sessions, and a 4-km walkathon around MIDHANI’s Hyderabad and Rohtak plants. The company also organised a Gram Sabha at Singapuram village in Ranga Reddy district, Telangana, to spread awareness about anti-corruption practices among local communities.

As part of outreach initiatives, poster-making, elocution, and slogan-writing competitions were conducted for students of BPDAV School located in MIDHANI Township.

The week concluded with a valedictory programme graced by V.V. Lakshminarayana, IPS (Retd), former Joint Director, CBI, as the chief guest. In his keynote address, Lakshminarayana shared insightful perspectives on various forms of corruption and urged employees to uphold integrity in both personal and professional spheres.

Speaking on the occasion, MIDHANI CVO Spurthi Reddy (IRS) highlighted the evolving role of vigilance, noting its transition from “Punitive Vigilance” to “Preventive,” and now towards “Participative” and “Predictive Vigilance,” as emphasised by the CVC.

The event also saw the release of the in-house vigilance magazine Jagruti and distribution of prizes to winners of various competitions. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming MIDHANI’s collective resolve to contribute towards building a corruption-free and prosperous nation.
