The event began with the hoisting of the Tricolour followed by the National Anthem. NHPC Directors — Uttam Lal (Personnel), Sanjay Kumar Singh (Projects), Suprakash Adhikari (Technical) — along with Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Santosh Kumar and other senior executives were in attendance.

Extending his greetings to the NHPC fraternity, Goyal called Independence Day an occasion to honour the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters. He also outlined the company’s recent achievements, including the commissioning of the 800 MW Parbati-II Hydroelectric Project, significant progress in the Subansiri Lower and Pakal Dul projects, and record-breaking daily and monthly power generation figures.

Highlighting NHPC’s growing role in the clean energy sector, Goyal said the company is expanding into pumped storage, solar power, and green hydrogen projects in alignment with the Government of India’s renewable energy targets.

The celebration was also attended virtually by employees from NHPC’s regional offices, power stations, and projects across the country through a live webcast.
