NLCIL participates in a sports event of special children

As part of observation of National Day for physically and intellectually challenged, the Cuddalore District Education Department organised a sports event for special children

Neyveli: As part of the observation of National Day for physically and intellectually challenged, the Cuddalore District Education Department had conducted a sports event for special children.

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) in right earnestness came forward to host an event at Bharathi Stadium, Neyveli. The same was conducted on December 12.

NLCIL's Director (HR) R Vikraman speaking on the occasion, he expressed his happiness over the privilege conferred upon NLCIL in conducting the event for special children. He was confident that such events would speed up mingling our special children in the mainstream of life.

The event was inaugurated Chief Education Officer of Cuddalore Rose Nirmala in the morning.

Around 320 differently-abled children participated in various categories of sports and events enthusiastically. Athletic events such as sprint for 100 metres and 50 metres, standing long jump, softball throw, Tennis ball throw, Wheelchair race and Bocce were conducted.

Vikraman participated in the prize distribution function and distributed the prizes to the winners.

It was heartening to note that this event served as a confidence-building measure among the differently-abled children in the various categories such as cerebral palsy, intellectually disability, orthopaedic impairment, low vision, total blindness, hearing disability and multiple disabilities.

NLCIL's Chief General Manager (CSR) R Mohan delivered the vote of thanks.
