New Delhi: Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has secured five Kalinga Safety Excellence Awards for the Assessment Year 2024 at the 16th National Safety Conclave 2025, reaffirming its strong focus on workplace safety and operational excellence. The awards, presented by the Hon’ble Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly and MLA, Ranpur, Surama Padhy, were conferred during a ceremony organised by the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS) in Bhubaneswar.
OMC’s mining units earned top honours across multiple categories, reflecting the corporation’s steady progress in enhancing safety standards. The Roida C Iron & Manganese Mines and Kodingamali Bauxite Mines received the Platinum Award, while the Guali Iron Ore Mines, Tiringpahar Iron Ore Mines, and Ampavalli Limestone Mines were honoured with the Gold Award.
The Kalinga Safety Excellence Awards are considered among the most respected recognitions in Odisha’s mining and industrial sectors. OMC’s emphasis on prevention-focused safety practices, supported by digital innovation and continuous monitoring, received significant appreciation at the conclave.
The corporation has been adopting technology-driven solutions, such as real-time safety reporting tools, automated alert mechanisms, and digital monitoring platforms, to strengthen risk mitigation and improve emergency response. These initiatives have contributed to safer, more compliant, and efficient mining operations across its facilities.
