RINL-VSP organises ‘Run for Unity’ in Ukkunagaram

On the occasion of the 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas,' RINL-VSP organised 'Run for Unity' which was participated by a large number of VSP employees and school children

Visakhapatnam: RINL-VSP organised a 'Run for Unity' in connection with 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day) to commemorate the 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Thursday. A large number of VSP employees and children from schools of Ukkunagaram participated in the 'Run for Unity'. RINL's Director (Commercial) DK Mohanthy flagged off the Run for Unity at the Col CK Nayudu Ukku Stadium in the township.

Speaking on the occasion, DK Mohanty stated that all the RINL employees along with children who are the future of our country should reinforce their dedication to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity and security of India. He also administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge to all the participants to mark the occasion.

RINL's Executive Director (CS) RV Rao, HOD (Sports) MS Kumar, representatives of Steel Executives Association (SEA), unions, SC&ST, OBC association took part in the event. The event was coordinated by the sports department.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) was introduced by Modi government in 2014. The official statement for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas by the Home Ministry cites that the National Unity Day "will provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country."
