RSP awarded for best employee communications programme

Rourkela: SAIL's Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) was awarded at the third National Media Conclave held at Bhubaneswar from November 21 to 23, in the category of 'Best Employee Communications Programme.' It is worth mentioning here that the conclave was organised by Utkal University and Institute of Media Studies on the theme 'Communication 4.0'. RSP was awarded for adopting a multi-pronged approach for reaching out to every employee irrespective of unit or cadre and leveraging the human resources to the best of its capability.

The award was based on the public relations initiatives taken to propagate the communicating interventions launched by RSP's CEO Dipak Chattaraj. This included Udyam, Ojaswini, Safety interventions like Sankalp and Behavioural-based safety, Cost Control workshops, CEO Connect etc. The PR department had elaborated how it had enhanced the reach of each initiative by using different media like Press Releases, RSTV news, social media, films, documentaries as well as outdoor media like hoardings and banners etc.

RSP's Dupety General Manager Archana Satpathy received the award from Odisha Assembly's Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro in the presence of Ravenshaw University's Vice-Chancellor Dr Ishan Kumar Patro, Outlook's editor Ruben Banerjee and many other eminent personalities.

In a small function held on November 26, the award was handed over to Dipak Chattaraj in the presence of RSP's ED (P&A) Raj Vir Singh, RSP's ED (Works) Gautam Banerjee, RSP's ED (MM) DK Mohapatra, RSP's ED (Projects) Pankaj Kumar, RSP's CGM (F&A) Praveen Nigam, RSP's GM (PR) Ramendra Kumar and RSP's Chief of Communications and other senior officers. The CEO congratulated the RSP collective on winning the award and emphasised on further bolstering RSP's communication interventions.
