RSP organises ‘Synergy Lok Sanskrutik Mahotsav’

RSP organised 'Synergy Lok Sanskrutik Mahotsav' which was participated by a large number of villagers, employees and senior officials of the plant

Rourkela: Thirty dance troupes from different villages of Nuagaon Block enthusiastically participated in the zonal level competition of 'Synergy Lok Sanskrutik Mahotsav,' organised by the CSR Department of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at Lindra village on December 6th.

RSP's Chief General Manager (MM-Purchase) NK Samantaray graced the concluding function as the chief guest. RSP's General Manager (F&A) Anami Bose, RSP's Deputy General Manager (F&A) Sudhanshu Behera were the special guests of the function. Also present were General Manager (CSR) MV Apparao other officials of CSR, SHG Group members and village elders.

Speaking on the occasion, Samantaray commended the efforts of RSP's CSR in promoting the cultural heritage of the region. He exhorted the villagers to preserve the culture and tradition in the fast-changing world.

The chief guest also presented the first, second and third prizes to the winners of the dance competitions. Koelsutta village emerged as the champion of Nuagaon Block winning a cash award of Rs 5,000/- and the champion trophy. The Kadlka village won the second prize that consisted of a cash award of Rs 4,000/- and a trophy. The third prize that carried a cash prize of Rs. 3,000/- and a trophy was bagged by Hadungda village. The judges were also felicitated on the occasion.

Consolation prizes of Rs 1,500/- were also given to each of the remaining 27 participating teams.

The event was organised by the CSR Department of RSP with the support of local Self Help Group, Reena of the Lindra village. The event was coordinated by Deputy General Manager (CSR) Munmun Mittra.

The dignitaries present on the occasion were RSP officials, local Sarpanch and village elders. The programme was witnessed by a large number of villagers from neighbouring areas.

It is worth mentioning here that as a part of its CSR initiatives, RSP organises the Synergy Lok Sanskrutik Mahotsav every year. The zonal level competitions are organised in four blocks and the final round of the competition is being organised at Rourkela.
