Dillip Kumar Patel assumes charge as Director (HR) of NTPC

Dillip Kumar Patel, who was serving as General Manager, has assumed charge as Director (HR) of NTPC Limited on Wednesday

New Delhi: Dillip Kumar Patel has assumed charge as Director (HR) of NTPC Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, on Wednesday. Prior to this assignment, he was serving as General Manager (HR) in the same organisation.

Dillip Kumar Patel is a mechanical engineering graduate (BTech) from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT Rourkela). He completed his postgraduate diploma in Business Management (HR & Finance) from MDI, Gurgaon

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported that Patel was recommended for the post of Director (HR) NTPC by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on September 18. He was selected from a list of nine candidates, who were interviewed by the panel.

Education & background

Patel is a mechanical engineering graduate (BTech) from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT Rourkela). He completed his postgraduate diploma in Business Management (HR & Finance) from MDI, Gurgaon. Patel has had an illustrious career spanning over more than three decades including both line and HR functions. After gaining work experience in (Mechanical Maintenance & CHP Operation) and Employee Development Centre (EDC) at Korba, he took a leap in his career and switched to core HR functions in 1997.

He looked after various dimensions of HR at Korba and subsequently moved on to become the Head of HR at Koldam where the first hydro project of NTPC was launched. Patel had been the HR Head in various NTPC projects like NSPCL Bhilai, Sipat and Tanda for around 12 years. He was also the Regional Head of HR in the Eastern Region-2 before he was appointed as the Director (HR).
