Dr AP Maheshwari appointed as DG, CRPF

Dr AP Maheshwari, who is currently serving as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as Director-General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)

New Delhi: Dr AP Maheshwari has been appointed as Director-General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) gave approval to the appointment of Dr Maheshwari on Monday. Dr Maheshwari is currently serving as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. "He has been appointed as Director-General of CRPG from the date of joining the post and up to February 28, 2021, the date of his superannuation or till further orders, whichever is earlier," said an order from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

Education & background

Dr AP Maheshwari is 1984 batch, Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He has done his masters in business administration (MBA in Finance) and Doctorate in Sociology. He is a qualified member of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWA) and also holds a diploma in Computer Application.
