FANI Relief Work: OIL donates Rs 3.2 cr In CM Relief Fund

Oil India Limited announced to contribute Rs 3.2 crore through CSR funds to the Odisha Chief Minister's Relief Fund in order to meet the requirement of 1000 kl of Kerosene

Bhubaneswar: Oil PSU Oil India Limited Monday morning donated Rs 3.2 cr in Chief minister relief fund in order to meet the immediate requirement of 1000 kl of Kerosene in the state. Besides this, the Fani-affected people of Odisha will be able to avail 10 lakh litre kerosene for free. It is important to note here that more than 1.1 million people were evacuated to safer places during cyclone Fani hit the state. Arranging for fuel in the camps of the cyclone affected people and villages where people are returning, is turning out to be a big challenge for the government.

"I have advised one of the PSUs under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to contribute around Rs 3.2 crore (equivalent to 1000 KL SKO on a cost basis) through CSR funds to the CM Relief Fund/State Exchequer to meet the requirement."-Pradhan

Rajeev Singhal, GM, Oil India Ltd informed that a cheque of Rs 3.2 crore has been handed over to the SRC as a help to rebuild and restore Odisha post-Cyclone Fani.

Pradhan advises oil PSUs to Contribute to FANI relief fund

This relief from the oil PSU was announced after Dharmendra Pradhan announced that he has adviced an oil PSU to contribute towards relief fund through CSR. In response to the May 10 letter written by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's in which he had demanded for extra kerosene in the cyclone-hit areas, Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister wrote, "I have advised one of the PSUs under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to contribute around Rs 3.2 crore (equivalent to 1000 KL SKO on cost basis) through CSR funds to the CM Relief Fund/State Exchequer to meet the requirement."

Additionally, 1000 kilo Litre of kerosene has also been made available for the State, he wrote in that letter.
