New Delhi: Union Minister of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Arvind Sawant, gets in action the very next day he took charge of the office. Sawant visited Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited headquarters based out of national capital and had a meeting with top officials including the CMD of the PSU. The minister reviewed the performance and the future readiness of BHEL. Sawant met Atul Sobti, CMD, BHEL and all Functional Directors on the Board of BHEL.

A press release issued the Maharatna PSU said the minister was briefed about the performance trends of the company, diversification initiatives taken for enhancing competitiveness & growth and building R&D capabilities.
The Minister praised BHEL's proactive approach in diversification and advised to continue it to find new avenues of growth.

Sawant, an MP from ShivSena, took charge as the minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises on Tuesday only.
