New Delhi: Jaikumar Shrinivasan is set to be new Director (Finance) NLC India Limited, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Power. Shrinivasan's name has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) NLCIL by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. He is currently serving as Director (Finance) in Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), a state-owned PSU company of the government of Maharashtra.
Shrinivasan has been selected as Director (Finance) NLCIL from the list of six candidates who were interviews in the selection meeting.

The candidates who were interviewed in the selection meeting were from different organisations including North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Limited, SJVN Limited, National Seeds Corporation (NSC), Cement Corporation of India Ltd. (CCI) and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).

Srinivasan is a B Com graduated from the University of Nagpur and an Institute of Cost and Work Accountants of India (ICWA) from the Nagpur chapter. Prior to his appointment in the MSEDCL, he was serving as Director (Finance) in the MSEB Holding Company Limited since August 2017. He also worked with Mahahenco as a Director (Finance). Apart from that, he was serving as part-time Director of Mahaguj Colliery Company limited, UCM Coal Company Limited and other subsidiary companies of Mahagenco.
In July only the PSU had shot off an advertisement to fill up the post of Director (Finance) NLCIL. The post has been lying vacant since September 29, 2018
NLCIL, formerly known as Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited is a 'Navratna' PSU company in the fossil fuel mining sector in India and thermal power generation. It was incorporated in 1956 and was wholly owned by the government of India. It annually produces about 30 million tonne lignite from opencast mines at Neyveli in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India and at Barsingsar in Bikaner district of Rajasthan state. The lignite is used at pithead thermal power stations of 3,240 MW installed capacity to produce electricity. Its joint venture has a 1000 MW thermal power station using coal.
