New Delhi: The NABARD regional office building project that was being built by state-owned real estate major National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited (NBCC) in Salt Lake, Kolkata, has been handed over to the authorities, a statement released by NBCC said.

The state-owned public sector undertaking (PSU) claimed that it had delivered the building in a record time of 24 months. It was recently inaugurated by NABARD Chairman Dr Harsh Kumar Bhanwala.

"The eco-friendly 3-star project incorporates all features of a modern green building."

Built at an expenditure of Rs 60 crore, the ground plus eight-storeyed earthquake resistant building has a total built-up area of 10,646 square metres. Featuring a state-of-the-art conference room and an auditorium along with premium office spaces, the building will function as the hub of all regional activities of NABARD, the press release said.

Speaking about the project, NBCC CMD Dr Anoop Kumar Mittal said, "The eco-friendly 3-star project incorporates all features of a modern green building. NBCC is always in the pursuit of sustainable development, using processes and materials that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient – right from planning to design, construction, operation, maintenance and renovation."

NBCC, a Navratna enterprise, has a consolidated revenue of Rs 7,096 crore (FY 2018). It has been growing with a consistent upward trajectory of 20 percent CAGR in the past five years. The company's unique business model has today makes it stand out as a leader in its own right in the construction sector with more than Rs 80,000 crore order book in hand.
