New Delhi: NHPC has invited applications for the second batch of "NHPC Sports Scholarship Scheme for Upcoming Sportspersons" in five sports namely Football, Kabbadi, Boxing, Wrestling and Para Sports. These scholarships are aimed to be given to promising young players between the age of 14-19 years (14-24 years for para sports) with a view to encourage talent and create a pool of sportspersons during formative years of education.
There is a maximum provision of 10 scholarships with two grants each in the five sport categories mentioned above. The applications shall be considered for scholarships in two categories i.e. "Elite Scholar" and "Scholar" based on the fulfilment of the required criteria. The details regarding the scholarships are available in the 'career corner' of NHPC website www.nhpcindia.com.
