NLC net profit goes up marginally in Q2 FY2019-20

In Q2 of FY2019-20, NLC India registered a 2.76 percent rise in Profit after Tax (PAT) at Rs 336.78 crore year-on-year

New Delhi: In Q2 of FY2019-20, NLC India Ltd (Neyveli Lignite Corporation) registered a 2.76 percent rise in Profit after Tax (PAT) at Rs 336.78 crore year-on-year, up from Rs 327.72 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. The PAT for H1 at NLC stood at Rs 659.82 crore, up by 1.93 percent when compared to the last quarter — Rs 647.35 crore.

NLC total income grows by 18% in Q2 y-o-y

The total income of NLC during Q2 went up by 17.90 percent as it stood at Rs 2,217.

85 crores as against Rs 1,881.07 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The figure for H1 stood at Rs 4,121.88 crores, up from Rs 3,722.18 crores in the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a growth of 10.74 percent.

Power generation

Power generation during the quarter and half year ended September was 5273.03 MU and 10332.13 MU respectively as against 4772.62 MU and 9656.61 MU in the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a growth of 10.48 percent and 7 percent, respectively, in both the periods.

Commissioning of 358 MW of solar power plant has resulted in an increase of solar power generation during Q2 and H1 to 325.59 MU and 590.30 MU, respectively, as against 121.43 MU and 202.52 MU in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Power export at NLC during Q2 and H1 of FY20 was 4512.63 MU and 8818.11 MU respectively as against 4004.95 MU and 8116.86 MU in the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a growth of 12.68 percent and 8.64 percent, respectively, in both the periods.

EBITDA registers growth of 14.56%

The EBIDTA for Q2 was Rs 908.73 crore as against Rs 719.01 crore, registering a growth of 26.39 percent. The EBIDTA for half year ended September was Rs 1,663.21 crores as against Rs 1,451.83 crores, registering a growth of 14.56 percent.

Average Plant Load Factor (PLF) of Thermal Plant achieved during the quarter and half year ended September was 69.31 percent and 69.41 percent, respectively, as against 64.02 percent and 65.69 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year.
