NTPC wins 40 MW in UPNEDA’s 500 MW Solar tender

Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency had invited tender for 500 MW solar capacity where power PSU made a couple of successful bids

New Delhi:  Maharatna PSU NTPC has bagged 2 solar power projects of 20 MW capacity each in an auction conducted by Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA). Acting on the vision to transform NTPC into the country's largest green power producer NTPC had participated in the UPNEDA's tender for 500 MW Solar capacity with two bids of 20 MW each at Auraiya and Rihand.

Projects will be set up under 'Engineering, Procurement and Construction' Model

NTPC said in a statement "Reverse Auction was carried out on 25.06.19 and NTPC has won entire 40 MW of Solar capacity at a levellised tariff of Rs. 3.02/kWh applicable for 25 years." The above projects shall be set up by NTPC under EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) model and shall add to the installed capacity of NTPC.

Reverse Auction was carried out on 25.06.19 and NTPC has won entire 40 MW of Solar capacity at a levellised tariff of Rs. 3.02/kWh applicable for 25 years.

Including the projects of UPNEDA, NTPC now has won an aggregate solar capacity of 545 MW under tariff-based competitive bidding tenders of States/ SECI (Solar Energy Corporation of India).
