Rajesh Aggarwal is new Govt Nominee Director of ONGC

New Delhi: Rajesh Aggarwal (IAS) has been appointed as Government Nominee Director on the Board of ONGC Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. He has been appointed on the board of ONGC Limited with effect from March 24. Rajesh Aggarwal is 1989-batch Indian Administrative Services Officer (IAS) of Maharastra cadre. He is currently serving as Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. With his new assignment, he has replaced Rajiv Bansal, said an order from the Ministry. The information has been shared by the Oil PSU in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Wednesday.

Education & background

Rajesh Aggarwal belongs is graduated from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT, Delhi) as a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in computer science & engineering. He had worked in central government as Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services and Director, Jan Dhan Mission in Tribal Affairs and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and earlier as Director in Election Commission of India. In the state government of Maharashtra, he had worked under various capacities including as its IT Secretary. He had served on the boards of Punjab National Bank, IFCI Limited and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing. He was also nominated as the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of National Insurance Company Limited. Presently, he is serving on the boards of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited as a Director.
