Rashtriya Ekta Divas: HAL joins celebrations

Bengaluru: On the occasion of 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is organising series of events at its various offices and facilities spread across the country. The birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is being celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Divas (National Unity Day) on October 31 every year, as Modi government introduced in 2014.

The day-long 'Rashtriya Ekta Divas' celebrations included various activities such as pledge taking ceremony by employees, Run for Unity, quiz competitions in schools, blood donation camps etc, HAL said in a press release.

Banners and posters carrying the message of national integrity and unity were prominently displayed at HAL offices in various languages across the country. A blood donation camp was held at the Company's Medical and Health Unit (Bengaluru) in which around 75 people donated blood.

While speaking on the occasion HAL's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) R Madhavan said that HAL reaffirmed its commitment towards nation-building. HAL will continue to make concerted efforts in supporting the Indian defence forces, he added.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) was introduced by the Modi government in 2014. The official statement for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas by the Home Ministry cites that the National Unity Day "will provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country.
