New Delhi: RM Agarwal has taken additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of ITI Ltd on October 1, in keeping with an official order from the Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications. He is currently serving as Director (Marketing) at the company. Following the retirement of K Alagesan, Director (Production) at the PSU, who was holding additional charge of the post of CMD, Agarwal was appointed to the position.

Prior to his appointment as ITI Ltd CMD, Agarwal joined the Board of Directors of the company on June 8, 2016 as Government Nominee Director. He was appointed as Director (Marketing), ITI Limited and assumed charge on April 27, 2018. He has over 28 years of experience in the field of policy formulation, standardisation planning, operation and maintenance of telecom services.

He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering in electronics from Madan Mohan Malviya Engineering College, Gorakpur, and a master's degree in electronics and communications engineering from the University of Roorkee and a master's in business administration from Indira Gandhi Open University.
