The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Satya Narain Kapri as Director (Technical) of SECL

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Satya Narain Kapri as Director (Technical) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a PSU under the Ministry of Coal, on Thursday. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Kapri has been appointed to the post with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation ie, upto December 31, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently, he is serving as General Manager in the same organisation.

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported that Kapri was recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of SECL by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on July 21. He was selected from a list of eight candidates who were interviewed by the PESB panel for the same role.

As Director (Technical) of SECL, Kapri will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for the operation of mines and also for field activities, technical functions and the safety of mines.
