SECL CMD reviews production, mine development and monsoon preparedness at Amadand OCP

New Delhi/Bilaspur: Harish Duhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), visited the Amadand Open Cast Project (OCP) on Sunday to review coal production, mine development activities, critical infrastructure projects and monsoon preparedness measures.

During the visit, Duhan assessed the project's coal production performance and directed the management team to intensify efforts towards achieving the targeted production capacity. Reviewing the mine development plan, he stressed the importance of adequate deployment of equipment, manpower and other resources to ensure sustainable mine development and uninterrupted coal production.

The CMD also reviewed overburden removal operations and emphasized the efficient utilization of available blasting resources to maintain productivity and operational efficiency. He underscored the need for focused execution of mining activities to support the company's production goals.

As part of the review, Duhan examined the project's preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season. He inspected mine drainage systems, pumping arrangements, slope stability measures and dewatering infrastructure, directing officials to ensure robust water management systems are in place for smooth mining operations during the rainy season.

The SECL chief further inspected the Transportation and Loading System (TPS) area and instructed concerned officials to closely monitor the progress of ongoing infrastructure works to ensure timely completion.

During the visit, Duhan also reviewed employee welfare facilities at the NIML Camp, including the canteen, dining hall and kitchen. He emphasized maintaining high standards of hygiene, food quality and overall workforce welfare. He appreciated the kitchen garden developed within the camp premises and encouraged continued efforts to promote a sustainable and employee-friendly working environment.

The CMD issued several operational and developmental directions aimed at enhancing productivity, strengthening operational efficiency and improving workforce welfare at the project.
