SJVN pays final dividend of Rs 156.22 crore

SJVN had already paid interim dividend of Rs 368.07 crore in March, and presented a cheque of 156.22 crore of final dividend to the government for FY 2018-19

New Delhi: SJVN Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Power, has paid a total dividend of Rs 844.91 crores to its shareholders for the financial year 2018-19. The company had already paid an interim dividend of Rs 368.07 crores in March and cheque of Rs 156.22 crore for the final dividend was presented to the government. The central government holds 61 percent equity shares in the state-run PSU.

The final dividend cheque of Rs 156.22 crores was handed over to the Union Minister of State (I/c) Power and New & Renewable Energy, RK Singh by Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN Nand Lal Sharma on October 17 in New Delhi. On the occasion Secretary (Power) Subhash Chandra Garg, SJVN's Director (Finance) AS Bindra, Director (Civil) and senior officials of the Ministry and the company were also present.

During the handing over of the cheque SJVN's CMD apprised of the progress in construction activities of Arun-3 hydroelectric project and Naitwar Mori hydroelectric project. He informed that SJVN is actively pursuing to bring its other new projects into the construction stage.

He stated that hydropower is the core strength of SJVN and besides executing projects in Himachal Pradesh. SJVN is executing power projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Bihar and Uttarakhand.

Other renewable energy stations of SJVN

Also, SJVN has forayed into the field of Renewable Energy, Power Transmission and Thermal Power. The company is presently generating around 2015.2 MW of electricity from its operational projects i.e. 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri hydropower station, 412 MW Rampur hydropower station, 47.6 MW Khirvire windpower project, 50 MW Sadla windpower projects and 5.6 MW Charanka solar power station.
