New Delhi: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has been awarded three 'Coal Minister's Award 2021-22' for exemplary performance in various categories at a function organised at New Delhi.

WCL was awarded first prize for the best performance in the category of sustainability amongst all subsidiaries of Coal India Limited.  Likewise, it received 3rd prize for ERP implementation.

Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi presented the awards to WCL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Manoj Kumar. WCL's GM (Environment) Kaushik Chakraborty, GM (Pench Area) Nirmal Kumar and HOD (Systems) Sanchit Gulla were also present with him.

Area General Manager Nirmal Kumar was awarded the 'Coal Minister's Award' for outstanding performance by Pench Area. During FY 2021-22, the area has registered a growth of 44 percent in coal production and 52 percent in despatch as compared to last fiscal. Nirmal Kumar received the award at the hands of the minister.
