ACC appoints MTNL Director Sanjeev Kumar as new CMD of TCIL

  • ACC has cleared the appointment of Sanjeev Kumar as the new CMD of Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL)

  • Kumar is currently working as Director (Technical) in MTNL

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Sanjeev Kumar as the new Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) on Tuesday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Kumar has been appointed to the post for a period of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or till the age of superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as Director (Technical) in Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL). 

Earlier, PSU Watch was the first news organisation to report when Kumar was recommended for the post of CMD of TCIL on August 19. He was selected from a list of eight candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel. There were three candidates, who were on the list, were from TCIL, two from BSNL and one candidate was from Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRCL).
