ACC clears the appointment of Deepak Gupta as Director (Projects) of GAIL

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Deepak Gupta to the post of Director (Projects) of GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG), on Friday. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Gupta has been appointed to the post for a period of five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier.

Gupta is currently working as Executive Director (Projects) at Engineers India Ltd (EIL). He was recommended for the post of Director (Projects) of GAIL by the PESB panel on November 2, 2021.

Gupta is an alumnus of Atomic Energy Central School, Narora. He has done Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IGNOU. He has rich and diverse experience in business development, project management, technology selection, engineering and construction management.

As Executive Director (Projects) of EIL, he is leading the implementation of the mega multi-billion dollar Dangote Refinery & Petrochemical Project at Nigeria and the mega Polymer Addition Project at GGS Refinery at Bhatinda.
