Dr Amit Kansai appointed as an Independent Director on NHPC Board

The Board of Directors on NHPC Limited have appointed Dr Amit Kansai as an Independent Director on the Board of the company with effect from November 21

New Delhi: Dr Amit Kansai has been appointed as an Independent Director on the Board of NHPC Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Power. "Ministry of Power vide its letter dated November 11, 2021, has conveyed the appointment of Dr Amit Kansai as Non-Official Independent Director on the Board of NHPC Limited for a period of three years with effect from the date of notification of his appointment, or until further orders," the Power PSU said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Wednesday.

"Kansai is not related to any of the Directors of the company and is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any order of Securities and Exchange Board of India or any other such authority," it further added.

Kansai is MA in Political Science, Journalism & Mass Communication and Distance Education. He has completed his PhD in Political Science. He is also a Law Graduate. He is engaged in Education, Research & Training. He is Managing Director in Nirman Campus of Education, Research & Training, Sunam.

He is also Director (Administration & Academics) in Krishna Group of Institutions. He is involved in social causes especially in the field of Education. He has various publications under his name. Foreign Policy of India, Research Methodology in Social Sciences, Punjab Politics, to name a few, that has been published by him. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Sanskrit & Punjabi.
