Dr Manas Sharma set to be Director (Exploration & Development) of OIL

Dr Manas Kumar Sharma, who is currently serving as Executive Director, has been recommended for the post of Director (Exploration & Development) of Oil India Limited (OIL)

New Delhi: Dr Manas Kumar Sharma is set to be the next Director (Exploration & Development) of Oil India Limited (OIL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoNPG). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection (PESB) Board panel on Wednesday. He is currently serving as Executive Director (Basin Manager) in the same organisation.

Dr Sharma has been recommended for the post of Director (Exploration & Development) of OIL, from the list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. There were a total of four candidates who were on the list were from Oil India Limited, two from Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) and one from GAIL (India) Limited.

Dr Sharma is an Engineering Graduate (M Tech in Applied Geology) from Dibrugarh University. He joined OIL in January 2012 as Chief Geologist and subsequently rose to the current position.
