Govt appoints 3 new members in Central Electricity Authority (CEA)

The central government appoints Member (Power System), Member (Grid Operation & Distribution), Member (Thermal) in Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on Friday

New Delhi: The central government has appointed three new members, Member (Power System), Member (Grid Operation & Distribution) and Member (Thermal) in the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on Friday. The appointments have been made on a deputation basis. Here is the list of new members:-

1. Goutam Roy has been appointed as Member (Power System) of CEA. He has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of taking over the charge of the post till his superannuation (i.e. August 31, 2022) or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as Chief Engineer in the Authority.

2. Brijesh Kumar Arya has been appointed as Member (Grid Operations and Distribution) of CEA. He has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of taking over the charge of the post till his superannuation (i.e. January 31, 2024) or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as Chief Engineer in the Authority.

3. Naresh Anand has been appointed as Member (Thermal) of CEA. He has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of taking over the charge of the post till his superannuation (i.e. July 31, 2023) or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as Executive Director at NTPC Limited.

Central Electricity Authority (CEA)

The Central Electricity Authority of India (CEA) is a statutory organisation. The CEA advises central government, state governments and regulatory commissions on all technical matters relating to generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. It also advises state governments, licensees or generating companies on matters which enable them to operate and maintain the electricity system under their ownership or control in an improved manner.
