MECON CVO Upkar Kumar Kedia (ITS) gets additional charge of UCIL CVO

Upkar Kumar Kedia (ITS), who is currently serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of MECON Limited, has been given additional charge of UCIL CVO

New Delhi: MECON's CVO Upkar Kumar Kedia (ITS) has been given additional charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL). With his additional responsibility, Kedia has replaced M Srinivas (IDAS), who was holding the additional charge of the post since March 2020. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Kedia has been appointed to the post for a period co-terminus with his deputation tenure, i.e. up-to October 29, 2022, or till the appointment of a regular CVO in UCIL or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Kedia is an Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) officer of the 1995 batch. He is currently serving as CVO of MECON Limited.

Profile of Upkar Kumar Kedia (ITS)

Kedia completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics & Communication) from BIT, Sindri (Jharkhand) in 1994. Thereafter he did M Tech from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (now IIT, Varanasi) in 1997. He also pursued PGDBA (HRM) from Symbiosis, Pune in 2007.

In an illustrious career spanning over 20 years, Kedia has worked in various capacities in the Department of Telecommunication, including Assistant Director-General in New Delhi and Director in Ranchi & Bhubaneswar. He has extensive experience in installation, operation and maintenance of digital telephone exchanges, preparation of generic requirements related to value-added services in mobile technology validation and testing of mobile network elements, telecom enforcement and monitoring of various telecom service providers.

Uranium Corporation of India (UCIL)

Uranium Corporation of India (UCIL) is a Centrally-owned Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Department of Atomic Energy for uranium mining and processing. The corporation was founded in 1967 and is responsible for the mining and milling of uranium ore in India. The firm operates mines at Jadugora, Bhatin, Narwapahar, Turamdih and Banduhurang.
