NHPC organises seminar on ‘Mahatma Gandhi’s Language Contemplation’

The seminar was organised on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

New Delhi: A one-day seminar was organised on the theme "Mahatma Gandhi's Language Contemplation" on July 10 by NHPC Limited under the aegis of the Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti (NARAKAS), Faridabad. Nikhil Kumar Jain, Director (Personnel), NHPC Limited, who was the Chief Guest, inaugurated the seminar by lighting the traditional lamp.

The seminar was organised on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In his address on this occasion, Jain said that Mahatma Gandhi considered Hindi as not only a language but cultural heritage of the country. Gandhiji adopted Hindi as a communication language and connected it with freedom movement and it was the power of Hindi language that connected the entire nation with love. Gandhiji had said that it is absolutely essential for all Indians to learn Rajbhasha ie Hindi.

On this occasion, Prof RK Pandey, DG (NPTI), Avinash Kumar, Executive Director (Human Resource), NHPC Ltd. and Dr Rajbir Singh, General Manager (Rajbhasha), NHPC Ltd were present. During the seminar, JS Rajput, former Director of NCERT, Dr Ganga Prasad Vimal, Former Director of Central Hindi Directorate and well-known Hindi Writer, Prof Ramesh Bhardwaj, Director of Gandhi Bhavan and Dr Anil Roy, Professor, Delhi University and Dr MP Sharma, Professor, Jamia Millia University, VP Gaud, Director, Ministry of Culture and other scholars presented their views on Mahatma Gandhis language contemplation and his vision on the language.

In this seminar, more than 75 people from other NARAKAS member offices, including NHPC Ltd, participated. The seminar was organised with co-operation from NTPC Limited, Indian Oil Corporation and BPCL.
