NTPC announces appointment of 3 Independents Directors on its Board

New Delhi: Jitendra Jayantilal Tanna, Vivek Gupta and Vidyadhar Vaishampayan have been appointed as the Independent Directors on the Board of NTPC Limited for a period of three years with effect from November 12, 2021. The Ministry of Power on behalf of the President of India conveyed the appointment of the above candidates for the appointment as the Independent Directors on the board of Maharatna PSU. This information has been shared by NTPC Limited in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Wednesday.

The brief profiles of newly appointed Independent are as under:

Jitendra Jayantilal Tanna

Jitendra Jayantilal Tanna a Commerce Graduate and a Chartered Accountant by profession. He has functional expertise in areas of Direct Taxation, Audit and Finance Management

Vivek Gupta

Vivek Gupta is a serial entrepreneur. He is a Management Graduate with a degree of Law. He is the founder CEO of Jaipur Scientific Instrument, Jaipur Scientific Agriculture Research Sol. Pvt. Ltd. and Director in Drinkbucket Pvt. Ltd.

Vidyadhar Vaishampayan

Vidyadhar Vaishampayan is an M-Tech from IIT-Mumbai and he has also completed Executive Development Study from IIM-Bangalore. He is an active member of various social organisations and groups. He was associated with TJSB Sahakari Bank Ltd, Thane Maharashtra, since 1994 and was elected as a Board Member for the tenure of 1994-2002 and was a member of various sub-committees.

All the newly appointed Directors do not hold any shares of NTPC and he is not inter-se related with other directors on the Board of the company. Further, they are not debarred from holding the office of the director by virtue of any SEBI order or any other such authority.
