PESB recommends Sanjay Kumar Verma for MECON’s CMD post

New Delhi: Sanjay Kumar Verma is set to be the next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of MECON Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Steel. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as Director (Commercial) in the same steel PSU.

Verma has been recommended for the post of CMD of MECON Limited from a list of four candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on Tuesday. Apart from Verma HEC's Director (Marketing) Dr Rana Subhasis Chakravarty, SAIL's Executive Director Sanjay Sharma, Indian Railways' Chief Administration Officer Ranjiv Mahajan (IRSME) were also interviewed.

As CMD of MECON Limited, Verma will be the Chief Executive of the corporation and will be accountable to the board of directors and the government. He will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the corporation, and for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters.
