Rajni Kant Agrawal set to be the new CMD of WAPCOS Ltd

Rajni Kant Agrawal, who is currently serving as Chief Executive Director of WAPCOS Ltd, has been recommended for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of the company

New Delhi: Rajni Kant Agrawal is set to be the next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of WAPCOS Limited. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel, a public sector head hunter body, on July 2. He is currently serving as Chief Executive Director (Infrastructure Development) in the same organisation.

Agrawal has been recommended for the post of CMD of WAPCOS Ltd from a list of 11 candidates, who interviewed by the selection panel. Out of 11, six candidates were from WAPCOS and one each from NBCC (India) Limited, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), REC Limited and Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Co. Ltd.

Currently, Department of Water Resources' Additional Secretary Debashree Mukherjee is holding an additional charge as CMD of WAPCOS Ltd.

Agrawal is an engineering graduate (Civil Engineering) from BITS Pilani. He also possesses a master's degree in Water Resources Engineering (IIT-Delhi) and a Master's degree in Business Administration with a specialisation in marketing. He has more than 28 years of experience in planning, design and implementation of water resources and infrastructure development projects in India and abroad in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam, Srilanka, Maldives, Mongolia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Rwanda and South Sudan.

Agrawal has been involved in organising detailed surveys and field investigations, preparing master-plans, city development plans, feasibility reports, detailed project reports etc and has rich experience in project planning, contract management, material management, construction supervision and project implementation. He is actively involved in the business development activities of the organisation too.
