SAIL set to get new Director (Technical, Projects and Raw Materials); click to know who

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel has recommended the name of Arvind Kumar Singh for the post of Director (Technical, Projects and Raw Materials) of SAIL

New Delhi: Arvind Kumar Singh is set to be the next Director (Technical, Projects and Raw Materials) of the Steel Authority of India (SAIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Steel. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on May 2. He is currently serving as Executive Director (Works) in the same Maharatna PSU.

Singh has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical, Projects and Raw Materials) of SAIL from a list of nine candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on May 3. Out of nine candidates, six candidates including Singh were from SAIL, two candidates were from RINL-VSP and one candidate was from MECON Limited.

Singh is an Engineering Graduate (Metallurgical Engineering) from Birsa Institute of Technology Sindri, Dhanbad. He joined SAIL's Bokaro Steel Plant as Deputy General Manager in October 2008.

As Director (Technical, Projects and Raw Materials) of SAIL, Singh will be a key member of the Board and will report to the Chairman. He will ensure the effective adoption of the latest technologies and operational strategies, and project management capabilities for efficient, optimum and smooth implementation of the projects. He will also be responsible for the formulation and ensuring the implementation of the safety guidelines of the company.
