Vijay Mittal (IOFS) appointed as Govt Nominee Director on BHEL Board

Ministry of Heavy Industries' Joint Secretary Vijay Mittal has been appointed as Part-time Official Director (Govt Nominee) on the Board of BHEL

New Delhi: Vijay Mittal (IOFS) has been appointed as Part-time Official Director (Govt Nominee) on the Board of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. He has been appointed to the post with effect from March 25, 2022, in place of Jeetendra Singh, who ceased to be Director on the Board of BHEL with effect from March 25, 2022. This information has been shared by BHEL in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Friday.

Mittal has done B Tech in Electrical Engineering from College of Technology Pant Nagar, Uttarakhand and Post Graduate Diploma in Energy and Sustainable Development (PGIWSD). He also holds Master's Diploma in Public Administration (MDPA) from IIPA, New Delhi. He belongs to the Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS) of 1991-batch. Prior to joining the Ministry of Heavy Industries, he was posted as Deputy Director-General in the Directorate of Ordnance, Department or Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence.

Mittal is presently posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) owned and founded by the Government of India, is an engineering and manufacturing company based in New Delhi. It is a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. BHEL was established in 1964. It is India's largest power generation equipment manufacturer.
