Coal India helps build Shivpur-Kathutia rail line for faster coal transportation

Coal India is helping in building the Shivpur-Kathutia rail line for faster coal transportation from Jharkhand

New Delhi: In a tweet, Maharatna PSU Coal India Limited said that it is helping in building the Shivpur-Kathutia rail line for faster coal transportation from Jharkhand. Further, it said that the stretch of the rail line is 49.08 kilometres, which is being constructed by Jharkhand Coal Railway Limited (JCRL). Sharing the details of the rail line, it added that the line has a coal transportation capacity of 25 million tonnes per annum from its subsidiary, CCL.

JCRL is a joint venture of CCL, Jharkhand government, and Indian Railways. Further, CIL added that the project will be commissioned by March 2025. The Maharatna PSU also announced that it is going to help build railway lines for faster coal transportation from Odisha.
