New Delhi: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) inducted 127 newly appointed employees under its employment and rehabilitation initiatives at a ceremony held at Dishergarh Club on August 25, 2026.

Of the total appointees, 111 were appointed under the Dependent Employment Scheme in accordance with the provisions of the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA), while 16 were inducted under ECL’s Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Policy.
The induction ceremony has been attended by ECL CMD Satish Jha and Director (HR) Gunjan Kumar Sinha, along with senior officials, including General Manager, WBE Department, Nazrul Islam; General Manager (HR/IR), Punyadeep Bhattacharya; and General Manager (Welfare & CSR), RRR Lakra.
Representatives of trade unions, heads of departments, senior officials and employees from ECL headquarters and various operational areas also participated in the programme.
Addressing the newly appointed employees, ECL’s senior management highlighted the importance of their induction into the organisation and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with professionalism, integrity and dedication. The management also emphasised the need for the new employees to contribute towards the company’s organisational objectives.

The induction programme reflected ECL’s efforts to strengthen its workforce while meeting its commitments under applicable employment and rehabilitation frameworks. The initiatives also form part of the company’s broader employee welfare and rehabilitation measures.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Head of the Employment & Recruitment Department, ECL, Dibyajyoti Ghosh, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, trade union representatives, officers, employees and other participants.
