New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL), a leading engineering consultancy under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, along with its wholly owned subsidiary Certification Engineers International Limited (CEIL), has played a crucial role in the construction of the newly inaugurated Chenab Rail Bridge—now the world’s highest railway arch bridge.

The iconic structure, towering 35 metres above the height of the Eiffel Tower, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who lauded the project as an “engineering marvel” and a symbol of the strength, vision, and capability of a new India.

EIL and CEIL provided end-to-end engineering consultancy and rigorous quality assurance services for the project, ensuring adherence to the highest safety and quality standards. The organisations employed cutting-edge technologies, including Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and other advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, to ensure structural soundness and integrity.

The Chenab Rail Bridge is not only a strategic link but also stands as a global benchmark in complex infrastructure development. Constructed in a highly challenging terrain in the Himalayas, the bridge demonstrates India’s growing expertise in executing extreme engineering projects.

Describing the project as a moment of immense pride, EIL and CEIL stated that the achievement reflects India’s rising capabilities in advanced infrastructure and engineering design. As the national flag now flies over the Chenab Rail Bridge, it transforms the structure into more than just a transportation link—emerging also as a potential tourist attraction and a symbol of India's engineering excellence.
