Global Wind Day 2026: SECI MD highlights wind’s role in lower power costs

New Delhi/Goa: The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) participated in Global Wind Day India 2026, held in Goa on June 15, as policymakers, industry leaders and renewable energy stakeholders gathered to discuss the next phase of India’s wind energy expansion. SECI Managing Director Akash Tripathi (IAS), took part in a panel discussion during the event on resource adequacy for planning renewable energy capacity and the role of wind in bringing down the cost of energy.

The conference, organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, was held under the theme “Wind Energy: From Ambition to Acceleration” and brought together representatives from the Centre, state governments, sector regulators and industry bodies.

The discussions focused on policy reforms, technological advances and coordinated planning needed to support India’s clean energy transition and strengthen long-term energy security.
