GRSE Board approves Rs 2,896 crore for greenfield shipyard at Raichak

The Board of GRSE has approved a capital outlay of Rs 2,896 crore for setting up a greenfield shipyard at Raichak in West Bengal

New Delhi: Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd has approved a capital outlay of Rs 2,896 crore for setting up a greenfield shipyard at Raichak in West Bengal.

The approval has been granted by the Board of Directors at its 423rd meeting held on September 21. The proposed facility will enhance GRSE’s shipbuilding capacity for both naval and commercial segments.

The investment is part of GRSE’s previously announced capacity expansion plan involving three new facilities, including the Raichak shipyard. The company had disclosed the broader expansion plan on August 24, 2026.
