In Northern Railway, projects worth Rs 400.86 crore have been sanctioned to strengthen the communication backbone through deployment of a 2×48 fibre optical network across more than 3,200 route kilometres, covering key divisions including Ambala, Delhi, and Lucknow.

Additionally, North Central Railway will see installation of 2×48 fibre Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) network over 2,196 route kilometres, with an outlay of Rs 176.76 crore, aimed at supporting Kavach rollout and improving communication reliability.

Further, South Central Railway has been allocated Rs 578.02 crore for electronic interlocking works at 49 stations across high-density routes in Guntakal and Nanded divisions, replacing conventional panel interlocking systems to enhance operational safety and reduce manual intervention.
