New Delhi: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued a detailed plan for bidding out 50 GW of RE projects in FY 2023-24, allocating 15 GW each to Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and NTPC Ltd, and 10 GW each to NHPC Ltd and SJVN Ltd. “The capacities to be bid out by these Renewable Energy Implementing Agencies (REIA) has been planned and slotted over various months meticulously after holding consultations with stakeholders to ensure that the same kind of projects do not get bid out at the same time or in close proximity. The bidding plan will help the industry plan their investments beforehand. It was a demand that the industry had been making for a while. And it will also help attract maximum participation in the bidding process,” a top government official told PSU Watch.
In the month of April, SECI will bid out 2 GW of solar or hybrid or Round-The-Clock (RTC) projects. In May, SECI will tender 2.5 GW of wind power projects and NTPC and SJVN will bid out 3 GW each of solar or hybrid or RTC projects. May will also be the only month in the current financial year to see the highest capacity of RE projects being bid out at 8.5 GW.
