NALCO launches new IA90 aluminium alloy ingot to meet automotive industry demand

Bhubaneswar/Angul: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of its latest innovation — IA90 Grade Aluminium Alloy Ingot. This strategic move is aimed at addressing the growing and evolving requirements of the automobile industry.

The new alloy was formally launched by NALCO's Director (Commercial) Sadashiv Samantaray at the company’s Smelter and Power Complex in Angul, in the presence of senior officials and technical teams.

Specially engineered for critical automotive applications, the IA90 alloy offers enhanced strength, excellent wear resistance, and superior corrosion resistance. Its exceptional castability and mechanical properties make it a preferred choice for manufacturing key automotive components such as wheels, engine blocks, cylinder heads, and other structural parts.

With the introduction of the IA90 alloy, NALCO reaffirms its commitment to product innovation and responsiveness to market needs. The company aims to strengthen its presence in the domestic aluminium market by delivering high-performance, industry-specific solutions that cater to the rising demand for advanced materials in automotive manufacturing.
