AAPPL, a joint venture between NALCO and IDCO, has been positioned as a dedicated industrial hub offering world-class infrastructure, including road connectivity, efficient transport facilities, uninterrupted power and water supply, and specialised facilities such as training centres and laboratories. NALCO will supply 50,000 tonnes of hot metal annually to support downstream industries, enhancing cost competitiveness.

Addressing the gathering, Hemant Kumar Sharma (IAS) Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, Government of Odisha, underscored the state’s aluminium potential, noting that Odisha accounts for nearly 72 percent of India’s primary aluminium production. He described aluminium as “the future metal” with applications across packaging, appliances, transportation, electric vehicles, and aerospace. He said Angul Aluminium Park, spread over 223 acres with plans to expand beyond 600 acres, has already attracted three industries with four more in the pipeline.

NALCO CMD Brijendra Pratap Singh said the initiative will not only strengthen Odisha’s downstream aluminium sector but also generate new employment and investment opportunities. Manikanta Naik, Managing Director of Tata Steel SEZ, drew parallels with the Gopalpur Industrial Park, which has successfully attracted 14 major industries, expressing confidence in AAPPL’s growth trajectory.

The event also featured presentations by IPICOL, NALCO, and JNARDDC, highlighting Odisha’s progressive industrial policies and downstream sector opportunities. The roadshow drew participation from more than 100 investors, entrepreneurs, and industry representatives.
