In a regulatory filing to stock exchanges on Monday, NHPC stated that it received the Certificate of Successful Trial Run Completion for the final part capacity of 85.72 MW on October 10, 2025. With this milestone, the entire 300 MW capacity of the Bikaner solar project is now ready for declaration of its Commercial Operation Date (COD).

The company further informed that the Power Usage Agreement (PUA), valid for a period of 25 years, will commence following the approval of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) and the consent of the sole beneficiary, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). These approvals are expected shortly.

The Bikaner Solar Project marks another major step in NHPC’s diversification into solar energy and aligns with the Government of India’s renewable energy expansion goals. Once operational, the project will contribute significantly to India’s clean energy capacity and support the decarbonisation of the power sector.
